IxANVL Release 7.45 EA Overview

This Service Pack (SP) release is mainly focused on bug fixes since last release (7.40 SP3). See the "Resolved Defects List" below for a complete list of bugs fixed in this release.

New Features since IxANVL 7.40

  • GUI Enhancements: ANVL GUI on Windows has been updated with a new look and feel to enhance the ease of use. The enhancements include integration with Aptixia Data Miner, a new work flow, a new startup panel, and many others.
  • Test Suite Update: The Bootstrap Router (BSR) sections in the existing PIMSM and PIMSMv6 suites have been updated to the latest specification (draft 12).
  • Test Suite Update: The IPv6 Neighbor Discovery Protocol (NDP) has been updated to the latest specification, RFC 4861.
  • Test Suite Update: The VLAN test suite is updated to the latest specification, IEEE-802.1Q-2005.
  • Test Suite Update: The existing L2 MPLS VPN (PWE3) conformance test suite has been updated to the latest specification, RFC 4447. Previously, it was based on draft-ietf-pwe3-control-protocol-17.
  • Test Suite Update: LACP is updated to IEEE 802.3 20055
  • Test Suite Update: Ipv6 Stateless Auto Configuration is update to RFC 4862

Windows OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, Microsoft Windows 2003 Server. (IxANVL supports US English versions of the Windows operating system. Although IxANVL may run on other versions of Windows OS, these other versions are not officially supported by Ixia. If you attempt to install or run IxANVL on any version of Windows OS other than the U.S. English version, IxANVL installation or operation may fail.)
Linux OS: Redhat Linux 9.0 with kernel 2.4.20-8 or 2.4.20-6, Redhat Enterprise 4.0 with kernel 2.6.9-11 or 2.6.22.0.2.EL, Redhat Enterprise 5.0 with 2.6.18-53.el5
