IxANVL Release 7.80 EA Overview (March 2010)

IxANVL 7.80 EA is an "Early Adopter" release. This release introduces four new conformance test suites in the areas of MPLS-OAM, L2VPN, Data Center Ethernet and Routing.

The new test suites released in IxANVL 7.80 EA are:

  1. LSP Ping and Traceroute

    This test suite is based on RFC 4379, titled as "Detecting Multi-Protocol Label Switched (MPLS) Data Plane Failures". The test suite supports RSVP-TE and LDP as signaling protocol for selected test cases with coverage for downstream Mapping TLV and all the echo reply modes. The suite can be run with or without OSPF as IGP.

  2. VPLS with BGP-AD and BGP signaling

    This test suite is based on RFC 4761, titled Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) Using BGP for Auto-Discovery and Signaling. The test suite makes use of Topology/Profile based configuration wherein all the test cases of a particular topology can be run with a one time DUT configuration at the beginning of tests.

  3. FCF FLOGI

    This test suite is based on FCOE: Fiber Channel over Ethernet Protocol FIBRE CHANNEL LINK SERVICES, Rev 2.11 prepared by the INCITS, T11/Project 2103-D. The suite expects to be running against a node which has at least one interface and the node supports FCOE (of FC-LS-2, Rev-2.11).

  4. BGP 4 byte AS

    This test suite is based on RFC 4893, titled BGP Support for Four-octet AS Number Space. The suite supports both BGP4 and BGPPlus.

Product Compatibility

IxANVL 7.80 EA requires IxOS 5.50 GA and IxOS 5.60 EA SP1, or a later version of IxOS 5.60 EA, if operating with VNIC (v2.70) on Ixia load modules.

NOTE: When you are using one or more of the applications below on a single chassis configuration, please use the correct application versions so they align to a common version of IxOS.
